About Us
The Los Angeles Craft and Artisanal Beer Appreciation League is a not-for-profit club devoted to sharing our love and knowledge of craft beer to the people Southern California. Born in 2008 from the meeting of a few like-minded beer lovers who found that we shared the fuzzy dream of a world-class beer festival in Los Angeles.

Ben Ling runs Pure Luck Restaurant, a vegan pub as renown for serving fake meat as it is for pouring real beer that serves as the gut of L.A.'s burgeoning Bike District. Ben has shown that beer appreciation can be tasteful without being snobby, by selling $30 bottles of wild fermented Geuze to the city's bike messengers.

Alex Macy is the beer sommelier behind the popular beer tasting nights at
Red Carpet Wine in Glendale. Macy recently left Red Carpet and is heading
up the beer department for the new Bottle Rock in Downtown L.A. where he
plans to get the entire L.A. Live arena complex drunk on good beer.

Bob Kunz, who previously worked the barrels for Los Angeles' preeminent brewery, Craftsman Brewing in Pasadena, now pours pints at the prominent Father's Office in Culver City where he's a bar manager and tastemaker.

Alex Brown and Evan George are the beer geeks behind the veggie blog Hot
Knives
, where they throw around food ideas and pen pithy reviews of new
brews that include song selections and dairy pairings. The two organize the
bi-annual Grand Crew L.A., a bicycle tour of the best beer stores in LosAngeles.

Kevin Kansy is responsible for bringing some of the best craft beers in the world to Southern California via his boutique distribution company Artisan Ales. His passion for small-batch, hand made beers takes him up and down the Pacific coast and around the world, looking for the next big (small) brewer to champion.

Not unselfishly, we look forward to the day when Los Angeles is a world-class beer destination. Prost!
